Garry will be running the Great North Run in October for the 11th year - Sophie wants to run it with him when she turns 16 so think he will be doing this for a good few years..............
He has been keeping very quiet which means he may be "plotting" his next idea..............
A big thank you to James (for the early morning start), Keith (for agreeing to run 6 miles), Mum & Dad (for looking after the hotel) & Sophie (for dragging me round every fort on Hadrian's Wall). I did get lost on a few occasions, ending up down farm tracks...... but hey, that is typical for me. Many thanks also to David & Jane from "Keepers Cottage" (where we stayed) for their hospitatlity. Fantastic location, surroundings & excellent meals.
Many thanks once again for all the help & support.
Garry, Linda & Sophie
What donations are used for
Between dog and handler around £2000 of kit will be carried on the hill to look after the dog, handler and the casualty on a rescue. This will include items such as Avalanche Transceivers, radios, dog jacket, winching harness, first aid kit, neck collar, torches, waterproof clothing, rucksack, global positioning receiver, radio and much more. This all has to be carried to ensure that the team is effective on the hill.
SARDA Southern Scotland welcomes donations in any form to help keep this valuable service running. This includes gift aid donations, legacies, sponsorship and public donations. All the money raised goes towards ensuring our dogs are trained to the highest level always ready to assist in the search for missing people.
